HubSpot

Push Sillage contacts, companies and buying-intent data into your HubSpot portal — and stay in control of exactly when and what gets written.

The HubSpot integration writes what Sillage finds into your CRM: the right contacts inside your target accounts, their company, and the buying signals detected on them. From there your reps work in HubSpot as usual — with intent data on the record, and HubSpot workflows that can fire on it.

Nothing is written to HubSpot until you decide. Connecting the integration does not start a sync.

Connecting is step one, launching is step two. After you connect, the contact sync is Paused. Sillage writes nothing to HubSpot until an admin sets the options and clicks Launch sync. This is deliberate — you choose the rules before anything lands in your CRM.

What it does

  • Creates or updates contacts in HubSpot for the people Sillage tracks in your accounts.
  • Adds intent data on each contact: intent score, number of signals, which signals, when the last one happened.
  • Optionally creates the company and associates the contact to it.
  • Optionally protects your customers, leaving contacts already marked as customers in HubSpot untouched.
  • Ships ready-made HubSpot workflows (tasks, Slack, email to the owner) that fire on Sillage intent — installed switched off, for you to review.

Connect HubSpot

Open the integrations page

Go to Settings → Integrations and click Connect HubSpot on the HubSpot card. You must be an admin of the workspace.

Authorise the app in HubSpot

HubSpot asks you to pick the portal and approve the permissions Sillage needs — reading and writing contacts and companies, reading deals and owners, and creating workflows. Approve, and you land back in Sillage.

Sillage prepares your portal

In the background, Sillage creates a Sillage Properties group on your contacts and companies, with the fields it will fill (intent score, signals, lead status…). It also loads a default field mapping and reads your HubSpot property list so you can map fields later. See What actually syncs.

Set your rules, then launch

The HubSpot card now shows Connected, and the contact sync shows Paused. Choose your options — each one is explained here — then click Launch sync.

The settings, in one glance

The HubSpot card holds four blocks. They answer four different questions, and it is worth being clear which is which.

BlockThe question it answersOptions
Contact syncIs the sync running at all?Launch / Pause
Contact PushWhen does a contact get pushed? On new intent only / Full mapped roster
Contact Creation ModeCan Sillage create people who aren't in HubSpot yet?Update existing only / Create and update
Sync optionsWhat extra rules apply to each write?Create missing companies / Never touch customer contacts

Contact Push and Contact Creation Mode are the two people confuse. Push timing is when; creation mode is whether a missing person is allowed to be created. Picking "On new intent only" with "Update existing contacts only" is legal but very restrictive — a brand-new prospect showing intent is simply skipped.
